What are your dream machines yet to be found?
Im always interested in more canisters and Im really interested in more central vacuum units, Im looking at a few more of those to add to my collection.
What are your earliest and favorite vacuum memories?
I remember one time when I was young, I was at my grandmothers, and she had this canister vacuum in the basement. I dont remember the brand, it was kind of long with a fairly soft grip handle on top. Even back then I was really interested in vacuums so I rolled it out, plugged it in and started it up. I was playing with it when my grandmother came down and when she saw me playing with it, she kind of freaked out as grandmothers do and said "Oh, dont play with that, its broke. When it gets too hot, it starts to smoke. It might start a fire." The way she said it was kind of funny. I guess the motor was bad in it, because it wasnt clogged at all, suction was great.
Another time, at my grandparents house on the other side of the family, I took out their vacuum, it was a canister, not sure which one, looked kind of like a Eureka canned ham, it was two speeds, I plugged it in and started playing with it and my grandpa said something like "Oh, the vacuum going again?" and my grandmother said to him, "Well, you know Mike, he loves vacuums."
What is the history of vacuum you have owned?
I used to have a hoover electric broom, I gave that away when I got my first central vacuum power unit.
Have you ever worked on, repaired and/or restored any vacuum cleaners?
I have never repaired vacuums, just love to collect them
