Never thought much about vacuum cleaners until recently. This week I developed a new appreciation for my old Hoover Decade 80.... I was having problems finding belts, so I thought I would check out the vacuums at Target. They are all made of cheap. made in China plastic. High prices for horrible workmanship. No thanks! My old Hoover is made in the USA and made SOLID. Those plastic vacuums would never withstand the abuse they would get at my home.
What are your dream machines yet to be found?
Well, it might be nice to have the vacuum my ma had: A "Harvest Gold" Hoover "Dial-a-Matic" with attachments and a button that made it go self-propelled, kind of. We did a fair amount of the housework as kids and I pushed that vacuum 1,000 miles I am sure.
What are your earliest and favorite vacuum memories?
My very beloved late grandparents had a neat-looking orange vacuum cleaner. From browsing this site I now know it to be called a "Hoover Convertible"
