What is the best Kirby model made?

I have a Classic Omega, a 562, and a Heritage 2. The Heritage 2 is my favorite and my daily driver.

    Uprights Or Canisters?

I Like Both It all depends on what I'm cleaning. Upstairs, I have wood floors and area rugs, I really give the little Hoover S1361 a workout up there and it works fine. Downstairs, I have heavy carpeting everywhere except the bath, so I use my Kirby Heritage II as a daily driver and my...

"Selling because we got rid of our carpet"

Me....If I had hard flooring, I would keep a good commercial dust mop with a treated head for day to day sweeping. I would still have a canister vacuum for the area rugs, upholstery, with a good floor brush to suck up the stuff out of the cracks on occasion.

    Anyone here know about these?

It looks an awful lot like an old Panasonic a friend of mine had. They were kinda square and blocky like that in the 1980s. I may be wrong.

So what is the story with Douglas Qwikut

@tolivac Yep....they still do make knives. Here is their website.... http://www.douglasquikut.com/

How to keep a vacuum collector busy

I have used that site many times in the past for vac parts and commercial cleaning products. Their Elky Pro chemical line is quite reasonably priced and very good. Their aftermarket parts are decent quality and dirt cheap.

So what is the story with Douglas Qwikut

Douglas Qwikut is under the Berkshire Hathaway umbrella like my workplace and Kirby. They make (or have made) a lot of generic power nozzles for a variety of vacuums. I have one of the generic Douglas power nozzles, nothing special, but nothing particularly...

Pictures from the Portland mini meet

So sorry I couldn't make it. I got back into town from vacation late, and I was just too whooped to do anything after my 200 mile drive.

Looking for Kirby Heritage I w/13" Nozzle

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, Ben. They seem to be rare as hens teeth here in our neck of the woods.

    "throwbacks"

My last bagless cleaner was what got me interested in vintage vacuums again. I have owned two bagless units, and I hated both of them. I would much rather have a bag (even a shakeout type) than have to mess with tapping, brushing, and washing filters. I bought a Kirby in 2004, then another, then...

    Canister for Hardwood Floors

My BOL Kenmore Power-mate was very inexpensive and has plenty of suction for tools. It works beautifully on bare floors. It's Panasonic made IIRC, and doesn't blow dust around.

    My Craigslist Find Tonight

I am very pleased with how she cleaned up. I am delighted with how well she really cleans the carpets. I don't have attachments, but I have always preferred a canister for above the floor cleaning (I have two Electroluxes, two Kenmores, and a Hoover LOL). Now that I have the new brush roll, I am...

    Doing the happy dance....

Congratulations on your finds. I like the way the DS cleans, and the smaller head. Good machines.

Kirby Classic III all buffed and coifed!

Looks gorgeous! The Classic III is one of my favorite vacuums (along with the 560). So sharp with the red. You did a fantastic job.
