Hi Everyone
Today I'm the proud owner of NZ's version of the GE swiveltop
This one is a 1981 model which followed on from burnt orange and was superseded by brown until GE sold out to Black & Decker in 1986 and the long running Swivel Top dissapeared.
One careful lady farmer owner since new...
Ge Uprights
Hi
I was looking through australias consumer magazine for 1978 this morning
the GE U4 in US was the UV40 in OZ and was still on sale in november 78. from what i figure GE vacuums still held their name until 1986. Such a good reputation for reliability here. The GE swiveltop left...
Hi everyone
Found this 1984 aussie ad for godfreys cleaner stores selling reconditioned vacuums
I don't remember them being that cheap but it gives an idea of what was on offer at the time and prices
Hope you enjoy
Cheers

Hi Guys
Just read a message from 'mattlux' in christchurch NZ on trademe (our ebay) enquiring about a vacuum. Matt says he's a collector of vacuums in his comments to seller.
Mattlux, if youre on vacuumland and live in christchurch nz then i would very much like to touch bases. There's not...
Hi everyone
Last week i became a proud owner of a 507.
I've been looking for this little baby for over 2 decades with never knowing anyone who had one or ever seen one at the dump or being thrown out I was starting to wonder if he ever existed.
The cleaner itself is as close to new as i could...
Hi all
Was lucky enough to buy the 560 on ebay in very nice condition. It's making it's way from the UK to NZ.
It's from a later run with the tool kit being all plastic without the flipover floor tool.
I'm on the look out for an early 500 series tool kit (braided or plastic hose is fine)...
Hi All
Today I was lucky enough to have come across this little beauty. An STC vacuum from 1956 - 1959. STC was a british company (standard telephone and cable) now known as Alcatel.
It appears to share many similarities to the US eureka rotomatic, the aussie PYE rotovac and a hotpoint...
Hi Guys
In the 1950's in australia even GE used the Eureka rotomatic design under the name of hotpoint. see the GE symbol at the bottom of the AD 'Australian General Electric'.
Seems like eureka was everywhere in one form or another
Cheers

A german made miele ranges from $299 for a c1 to $1700 for the c3 with power nozzle so the same prices as for hoover or wertheim tol models. Miele machines are good value for money in nz taking into account reliability and quality. The bags are very expensive at $30 for 4
