Currently there is only one vacuum of mine that I consider a collectible, and that would be the Hoover Constellation 858 with all original tools, and manual, in excellent condition. I purchased it broken and fixed it within minutes. The joy that this 1970 Vacuum brings me is more than anything else I own.
What are your dream machines yet to be found?
Hoover Celebrity, Hoover Concept One, Hoover Guardsmen in black and orange, I want more Constellations!!!
What are your earliest and favorite vacuum memories?
I have loved vacuum cleaners longer than I can remember. But I will never forget when I was 8 years old and ran into the living room on Christmas morning to see 20 old upright vacuums that my father had bought for me. Ever since then I have been repairing vacuums and I love my job!! From age 11 I have also worked various cleaning service jobs, all utilizing vacuum cleaners. When I first started cleaning houses it was with my mother's cleaning business.
What is the history of vacuum you have owned?
Many of the vacuums I have owned were shop vacs or otherwise used for commercial purpose. I have a Kenmore that has been my go-to cleaner for 15 years and it looks like it haha! But now I am starting to collect.
Have you ever worked on, repaired and/or restored any vacuum cleaners?
Fixing things is the one talent that I truly excel at. Right now I am employed repairing and selling vacuums, but my real passion is restoration of vintage vacuums, vintage electric fans, and other antique machines.
