Charles, this would be from about 1920. The Kirby of that era would have been the Wireless Vacuette. The Hoovers with wooden handles are fairly hard to find, but I seem to be hitting the jackpot lately!

I'd love a Hoover bag cleaner! I don't know of anyone willing to give one up at the moment, though. I know they turn up here and there, maybe I'll find one on my next vac shop adventure.

I just picked up a MINT 2042 from the 70s, with attachments & original bag, for $30 the other day to take up to the cottage. I was surprised how well it worked on our shag carpeting in the basement. Regarding the one on eBay, I think the sellers bag might be full....

Regarding patches... I could, but I don't really want to apply anything with an adhesive to it. Kirby bags are fairly heavy compared to the thin sateen used on the early Hoovers. Since I'll never use it to suck up dirt, the small holes will not pose an issue. Over-repairing something this old...

Yeah it's on the bottom. Mine also has 2 rear wheels for what it's worth. Yours is most likely earlier.

I guess since I only have 1 (1945 model XXX), it's my favorite! Truth be told, I'd really love to find a model V, as well as one of the British ones covered in tartan (not sure what model that is), but I do love my XXX to bits.

Oddly, mine has nothing stamped in the model number or serial number boxes...
