The people who seem to buy Mieles drive BMW's and Mercedes who like german engineering and will want something powerful which is well known and reliable. I agree I prefer the older models post S5 as they look more solidly built and they are also quieter.

Yeah I have seen a lot of the old stock S8 and S5 but the S500-800 models are much more rarer and in my opinion better built. There are some rarer models that float on eBay Germany.

Sorry for the late reply. I have seen some of the more powerful models of the S600 -800 on German eBay. They are very rare but not so long bag there was a 2000watt Miele Blue Moon Plus which I can imagine would be a collectors item. I think the large Miele was one of the best looking vacuums around!
