My Cirrus CR-79 Handle is breaking

This... Is the grip you'd need. There are no wires, the switch assembly is a bit interesting. The way it's set up there's a rod that runs from the switch you slide down through the handle and presses on the microswitch in the upper body of the machine to turn it on. All you'll need to do is...

Rare color variants of particular vacuums

UD40130... Is the teal Featherlite, I've been trying to track one down for quite a while. That color, the pink and blue seem to be a WalMart exclusive around back to school across a number of manufacturers they partner with.

Have you seen this vacuum before?

Looks... Very similar to this As Seen on TV "Storm Force" machine. I'd guess it's just a generic machine available from China for companies to slap their names on.

What's a vacuum you shouldn't like but really do?

The Oreck Magnesium RS is mine. I've always hated working on them, found them to be flimsy, motor power isn't great and the single row brushroll is a bit pathetic. However I purchased one when Wal-Mart had them on clearance and liked it so much I bought a few others for parts/when this one...

    Thrift Store Singer SST-300

There... Is a Bissell that carried on this design by proxy you could say. I've never seen a true twin fan styled Bissell myself, but the Bissell Prolite (the older bagged version, not the newer bagless) was an 8lb Oreck competitor that used a twin fan setup. The design has been sold to Tacony...

    What the?

Not quite... What Eureka did was private label some machines for Walmart under the GE name. I was unaware there was a steam cleaner, but there were also a few uprights both bagged and bagless, as well as at least one canister vacuum.

    Oreck Magnesium motor Question.....

You're... Not totally off. To my knowledge their actual reasoning for leaving LA was that the tax breaks Oreck had gotten for opening a factory and creating jobs were ending and not being renewed. They made the decision to move based on that. They were sold I believe first to some form of...

    Oreck Magnesium motor Question.....

I... Don't believe that motor is meant to be serviceable at all. Best bet would probably be entire replacement, hopefully the motor isn't too expensive. The classic XL motor is incredibly reasonable for "generic" (non Oreck branded).

I rented a rug dr (rant)

@huskyvacs Yep, you hit the nail on the head with the soap. I use a product called Saigers Sauce that a professional carpet cleaner helped create. Prespray and agitate, then just run a warm water rinse in the machine. Saigers Sauce also drys back in powder form so even if it isn't completely...

I rented a rug dr (rant)

Personally... I picked up an X3 because I trust the reliability of the Bissell machines about as far as I could throw one, and dislike the size of the tanks. If it's leaving the carpet that soaked it's probably a motor that's been used/abused far past its prime. When I use mine it extracts most...

The new Oreck I mean Hoover

I've... Been hoping for a cordless Oreck... I'm highly interested.

Best and largest cordless shop vacuum.

I'd... Highly recommend the 6 gallon Ryobi. It's the largest capacity cordless I know of with the largest diameter hose. The machine has good cyclonic action to keep the filter clean if you're working with finer dust. It can also be used with bags, I've found HEPA Riccar/Simplicity green...

    Maytag M700 Lifetime Belt

The... Warranty process, time for parts to be delivered and current amounts of part failure we've been seeing will be causing us to leave Tacony behind. The new management is currently ruining things. It's very sad when I can get a customer a more reliable machine with something like a Cirrus...

Hard to find Hoover Y Bags

Doesn't matter... Really the Y/Z bags are completely fine. Y & Z both have the same exact collar size, only difference is the size of the paper material. Going from memory Y is closer to squared, where as Z is more like a shortened A bag. In fact A uses the same collar size, again only...

    Consumer Reports

Counter Point... They've almost never been a decent publication. Always subject to biases and issues. Just take a look at their crusades against Isuzu and Suzuki and the corresponding lawsuits that reveal their falsifying testing to get a shocking headline. Videos pertaining to both lawsuits...
