Hi Les Thanks for your reply. Sadly I dont have the know-how to start taking my cleaner apart to check bearings. But if the bearings are worn, would that be the cause of whatever belt I think SHOULD fit....just comes off within seconds, and causes severe black marks on my carpets ? Thanks Derek

Hi Again Guys Well the beater bar rotates freely by hand when not attached to the belt, so thats positive anyway ! If anyone in the UK can lead me to the correct Hoover brand belts on Amazon thats great. I wont be sending to the USA for them. Cheers Again Everyone Derek
