Oh gosh!
I've been quietly collecting vacuum cleaners for over 20 years; my early collection unfortunately didn't survive an inital cull during a house move in '07.
In '09 I resumed my hobby, with an initial focus on mid-century Hoover Uprights.
After an eBay purchase on a cheap junior 1224, and a mirculous street-side pick-up of a Hoover Senior 652, I was sucked in yet again!
I've now got over 110 machines ranging from the pre-war period to the present day.
Kirby:
508, 509, 510, 518, 560, DS50(x2), DS80, Classic Omega (x3), Classic III, Tradition, Heritage, Heritage II, Heritage II Legend, Legend II (x2), Kirby Vacuette, G3, G4 (x2), G5, Sentria II,
Hoover:

I'm currently really interested in American vacuum cleaners.
I would LOVE to own the Hoover models 25, 150, 300, 305, 28, and the Norca 80.
I'm also searching for any Kirby R models (spefically the later ones with the more conventional headlight-cap) Other machines I'm looking for include the re-badged National Utility version of the Kirby model C, and the Cimex C-40 branded Kirby classic 1-CR.
I'll be happy to find any of the US Kirbys I don't have in the collection- or better condition examples of models I do have! But the most coveted vacuums-of-my-dreams would have to be the fabled 240 volt Kirby 505 and 508 that were sold to the South African Market (and to the UK, according to some Kirby dealers- though I've not seen evidence of one yet!)
