    questions about my TriStar

John: The Tri-Star CXL had a Lamb High Efficiency motor. It's a very good one. If you need any help with it, just contact me. Will be happy to help you with it. I'll get you the repair parts (like a new bag, filter, etc.) at wholesale cost.

    Sanyo Dirthunter bagless?

I sold a ton of those vacuums back about five years ago before Dysons were here. The one you are refering to must be the red and white model (which was the top of the line) because it had the speed control. The problem was the filter in the middle of the bucket. IF you'll buy a new filter (both...

    My invention...PLEASE HELP!

You should really read James Dyson's autobiography, "Against The Odds". He details the hell that the Hoover company put him through when he went to them in 1980 with his idea for a bagless cleaner. By the way, "The One" is already a name used by Hoover UK for their bagless cleaner with a filter...

    Fantom Vacuums

Austin: YES, Fantom was trying to screw-over James Dyson and decided that they should cease making dual cyclone vacuums so that their payment to James would also cease. The single cyclone Wildcat model was horrible. It was the lowest rated cleaner by Communist Reports. Fantom then decided to...

Advice Needed - Best Upright for Health Reasons?

Filtrete F & G Bisonion: You'll have to (yes, again) excuse Rob Gwisdala. I think he means well. But there are not (to my knowledge) any Filtrete bags for the F & G platform machines. There ARE "Filteraire" bags by Eureka, which are just micro filtration paper bags, not the cloth-like Filtrete...

Advice Needed - Best Upright for Health Reasons?

Felix floor brush Yes, the American version DOES come with an extremely good bare floor brush, which replaces the power nozzle when you want to clean bare floors. As a collector, one of the neat things about the Felix, is that it's just like operating a 1933 Air-Way "Chief" twin motor model...

    21 Cyclone Vacuum?

The Dirt Devil "hepa" filter The Dirt Devil reaction (also the 'action') has been out for almost a year. I've worked on a number of them already, and have many examples of the 'hepa' filter that I've already replaced in customer's machines. You'll notice that the filter cartridge has dust on...

    Fantom Vacuums

David: I only 'diss' the current state of Hoover. I do have a beautiful collection of vintage Hoovers that are my pride and joy. But, the company was completely different back then. Today, Hoover has many models made by other manufacturers and they put their name on them. Like the Sanyo...

    MY NEW VACUUM!!

1953. AND that was the first model of GE swivel top to have the flip over rug/floor tool. The paper bag goes into the cloth bag, and is then fed through the hole in the top of the bag support, flared out, and then the lid is replaced. That's the second GE swivel top model made. Ironic that GE...

    Can anyone identify this vacuum??

The Custom King was a Silver King with a larger dirt container. That size container would became the standard size several years after the Custom King was sold. Originally, the Silver King (which was sold door to door) had a smaller (half size) container for the dirt.

Advice Needed - Best Upright for Health Reasons?

Lindhaus/Sebo A Lindhaus is a good vacuum, but not as good (make that 'powerful') as the Sebo Felix. Both machines filter well, with the Sebo's bags being less expensive (and can trap more fine dust). Once again, you'll have to excuse Rob Gwisdala's suggestion to buy a Hoover windtunnel. Rob...

    21 Cyclone Vacuum?

Shark Infinity Manufacturers have to be very careful about the way they make cyclonic vacuums, so as not to infringe upon Dyson's patents. The Euro-Pro Shark Infinity's cyclones are not tapered, they are like test tubes. The tapered cyclones are EXTREMELY important in that the air speeds up as...

Advice Needed - Best Upright for Health Reasons?

Sebo One of the nicest things about the Sebo is the community of people who sell the machine. They are sold by vac shops, who have a vested interest in keeping you happy with the machine. The bags are available from any Sebo dealer, or directly from the Company in Colorado. Since the belt is a...

    Fantom Vacuums

Fantoms Here's the Fantom story. (I own all the vacuums I'm writing about, and will post pics to this thread later.) Back in 1984, James Dyson asked a manufacturer named Zanusi in Italy to make 500 vacuums that he designed. James held the patent on dual cyclonic bagless vacuums. He contracted...
