Awesome photos and occasion!
Very Happy Belated Birthday wishes to John and Matt! Great collection of vintage Hoovers when they were great. Congrats on the generous gift of a Hoover Celebrity II Elite canister too Matt! I grew up with one of those and enjoy having one in my collection now as...
I can't think of any way to convert to bagged. But from doing demos, they aren't hard to empty. I used to empty them all the time right in customer Living Rooms while on demos.
Get a trash bag or few sheets of Newspaper and spread them out, so you have about 24" square space. Unmount the...
Home Depot first sold those. Hoover got dropped from Maytag's corporate ownership in the acquisition process of Maytag by Whirlpool in 2007. Prior to that Home Depot had a Maytag Legacy line of Hoover vacuums branded as Maytag. It was a small line up with a Duros canister, Elite Rewind...
The red brush roll is the give away along with the facts of several bristle tufts between end and belt area. I believe it was one of these Hoover Windunnel cyclonic units. There were a few different variants depending on the actual vendor you bought it from and the year.
That's model 6984 circa 2005. Eureka sold Power nozzle canisters up until about 2017. There were several canisters available at that time including the 6982D which still had the WorldVac power nozzle and not the newer 12" power head that was also branded as the Beam Classic. The last of the...
That gray model PopNGo canister is a new style power head for the Kenmore lineup. It has a hair wrap prevention feature. This model is the only model of the series, other than the red plush pro power nozzle PopNGo that has a headlight. I have the navy blue PopNGo 600 that I got in February...
Central vacs have certainly come a long way over the years and there are many styles. The bagless ones can be messy as some involve sticking a brush up inside to clear built up dirt off a screen. Beam units were notorious for having what was called the Bean bag filter. You had to bang it out...
The 6000 was model S3613 , it was rated at 9.8 amps and on the market till about 1998. It had the same feature set as my PowerMax S3603-040 of the same time.
I got my TurboPower 5000 S3577 about 3 years ago off of eBay. I also have the 5000 that followed which was the S3612 PowerMax Deluxe style. I got the S3612 last December, it was a trade in at a friends vac shop.
Cool find on the PowerMax 950 from Craigslist. That's an era of Hoover that I...
The S3601 is a great unit. It really wasn't base unit. It was part of the last of the PowerMax line and since the Windtunnel line joined the market, Hoover gave feature preference to the Windtunnels over the PowerMax series. The end of the run of the PowerMax Deluxe series with the tan S3601...
The white colored Z400 was the base model of the Z platform with a few less features over the sky blue. Definitely an odd ball machine and you can't bash Hoover for trying something new. It did work. Heck I find Kirbys unique and awkward.
That is uncommon. This photo is from a vacuum store that specialized in Hoover.
Hoover went through a phase with various Windtunnels with minimal logos and I'm not sure why. I prefer when they had the Windtunnel decal and more on them.
The blue one is a basic 13" Windtunnel. The gray one...
