June 4th...the birthday of TWO Hoover legends

I'm still around. I don't make it over to this forum very often but I am still around. Work eats my brain and I get done with technology sometimes after that work day. I do still live in PA but don't make it east very often. How are you?

New Member Introduction – Enthusiast Collector

Welcome to the forum! I wasn't into Electrolux for years as I didn't have the experience. I now own an Aerus Lux Classic and Aerus Lux Legacy canister and like using each quite a bit.

    Favorite central/canister cleaning head?

Hoover Quadraflex Powermatics were awesome power nozzles. They cleaned very well. It's a shame that brush strips were discontinued for them many years ago. For today's day in age, I'm very impressed with the Lindhaus power head. It is pleasant sounding and grooms well. Also, the Panasonic...

    Filter queen majestic filter change

I can't think of any way to convert to bagged. But from doing demos, they aren't hard to empty. I used to empty them all the time right in customer Living Rooms while on demos. Get a trash bag or few sheets of Newspaper and spread them out, so you have about 24" square space. Unmount the...

    Hoover Legacy series (Duros)

Home Depot first sold those. Hoover got dropped from Maytag's corporate ownership in the acquisition process of Maytag by Whirlpool in 2007. Prior to that Home Depot had a Maytag Legacy line of Hoover vacuums branded as Maytag. It was a small line up with a Duros canister, Elite Rewind...

Can anyone identify this from the bottom?

The red brush roll is the give away along with the facts of several bristle tufts between end and belt area. I believe it was one of these Hoover Windunnel cyclonic units. There were a few different variants depending on the actual vendor you bought it from and the year.

    When was this Eureka released?

That's model 6984 circa 2005. Eureka sold Power nozzle canisters up until about 2017. There were several canisters available at that time including the 6982D which still had the WorldVac power nozzle and not the newer 12" power head that was also branded as the Beam Classic. The last of the...

    Kenmore models regained headlamp?

That gray model PopNGo canister is a new style power head for the Kenmore lineup. It has a hair wrap prevention feature. This model is the only model of the series, other than the red plush pro power nozzle PopNGo that has a headlight. I have the navy blue PopNGo 600 that I got in February...

The horrible truth about central vacuum systems and why every non-Canadian millennial hates them.

Central vacs have certainly come a long way over the years and there are many styles. The bagless ones can be messy as some involve sticking a brush up inside to clear built up dirt off a screen. Beam units were notorious for having what was called the Bean bag filter. You had to bang it out...
