Thanks for the advice. I will definitely be on the look out for the real Kirby attachments, there are a few that I would really like to have. Right now the use of my hodge podge attachments would be because of necessity. Thanks again for the advice.

I think I am going to keep it. I found a hose to purchse online for around $35, I was just wondering if regular standard attachments will fit the Kirby hose? Does anyone know? By the way by standard I mean a couple of hodge podge pieces left over from previous purchases, maybe a dirt devil...
