Nooo! Never put a vacuum on the top of stairs I put my fantom on top once and it fell on me it hurt but I wasn't injured so I learned the hard way.

power switch the power button is the button behind the bin release under the white handle on front that has the one touch logo and says bin release under the logo.

Those Idiots! It's a perfectly good vacuum and they set it on fire quite stupid indeed. At least it's well made and wasn't totally broken. If it can survive fire it can survive just about anything!
