I think the absence of the handle is why I got the deal on mine. The ebay seller said that a new handle could cost $40, so I will not worry about that. I may get a non braided, corrugated hose and still keep the braided one, though.

I know. I use a vernacular which I think is cool lol. At least older folks in Virginia call it Lectric-Lux, including my aunt who just died and she had at least two.

This was an interesting thread. Just from poking around in the European market, I found very few cylinder vacs with power nozzles supplied by the electrical mains. Most power nozzles for cylinders were air driven. I must say that I'm not a big fan of the smiley faces...
