    Bypass motor with most airflow

Miele S7? Vacuum-direct stated the Miele S7 has 141 CFM of airflow, but I have no idea where they measured that. I find that hard to believe. I have one though, and I can say that it does suck crumbs in front of the vacuum on hard floors with the brush off. Most other clean air vacuums with a...

Suction: Up the side or straight up the middle?

My old Dirt Devil Featherlite has side suction from a dirty fan, and it sucks crumbs into it from the opposite side. My Miele S7 is on the side, but the little tubing is angled to point towards the middle, and it sucks the dirt quickly from either side of the power head. Whether its suction...

    Vacuums that make you satisfied

My Miele S7 does its job really well in one pass. It has REALLY fast airflow, and powerful agitation from its brush to clean thoroughly. I know it deep cleans considering its brush roll beats really well, but it doesn't seem to groom my carpet as nice as my older Dirt Devil. I think it's because...

    My Extensive Collection Part 2

Hi Dan That's a great offer for such a vac in that condition, but I'm good with what I got now. As much as I would like to have that and other vacs that would be so awesome to have, I just don't want another vacuum in the House. I'm just one of those upright vacuum enthusiasts who have a few...

    My Extensive Collection Part 2

That LG... I forgot all about the LG kompressor! I always called it the Miele of bag-less upright vacuums because it cleans well, costs a premium compared to most vacs, it's really innovative, and... it's heavy just like a Miele S7. What a cool concept for a bag-less vacuum to cake up the dirt...

what do you guys think of the eureka airspeed

Cool! That's a nice collection in your vid. I love the Miele S7! That's the vac I use all the time. I wish I had the red one, but I got the basic blue one because me and my Dad thought we don't need to pay like so much more for a stupid headlight. My house is well-lit everywhere anyway. I did...

what do you guys think of the eureka airspeed

I guess I was wrong about believing that most bag-less vac filters get dirty quick. Seems like a good vac. Hope it gives you plenty years of use. I actually would like to have the bagged one if I was gettin' this.

what do you guys think of the eureka airspeed

Well... I know they do have good carpet cleaning performance because when it comes to Eureka, they know how to make competent vacuums. However, I question its reliability if you use it throughout your house almost daily because most modern big box store vacs tend to have cheap motors compared...

    My extensive collection

You're welcome, Dan! Those old 90's Hoovers are my personal favorite Hoovers of all time! I really tried to like today's Wal-Mart vacuums; however, I just can't stand that they are all made of cheap, creaking plastic. I also hate that modern vac motors are not made to last long like older...

    My extensive collection

Wow, that's one helluva collection! On reply 147, I used to have a similar vacuum like that, only it was grey and called a Hoover Power Drive. I miss it. It was a great self-propelled vacuum I grew up with as a kid that led to my interest in vacuums. Its motor burned out years ago :(

    Dyson Free on gumtree advice

I went off topic quite a bit on my last reply, sorry. I just started typing whatever comes to mind about Dyson because I honestly have a negative view of them with what I believe about them, but it may be a good vacuum to go for. If I did like Dysons and saw this, I'd honestly get it!

    "Automatic" brush height adjustment

I really do prefer manual height adjustment, generally. I may have a Miele S7, but the spring loaded height adjuster that adjusts to all varying heights correctly is interesting and makes sense to me (as I explained on my last reply here). I don't really go for vacuums with an auto height...

    Dyson Free on gumtree advice

Dyson isn't worth buying I never owned one Dyson, but from what I read, they have wimpy air-flow (somewhere just over 50 cubic feet per minute, while most vacuums are around 100 cubic feet per minute), they're beater brushes don't seem to beat carpet much, and they're made of cheap flimsy...

    "Automatic" brush height adjustment

Steve, the S7's automatic Height adjustment does work. Yes, the springs are a little stiff, but considering how fast the RPM is and the powerful force of the S7's beater brush beating the carpet, the brush should change to the correct height for certain carpet heights while the springs go under...

    "Automatic" brush height adjustment

Those vacuum brands are greedy, and just want your money if they are falsely advertising auto adjustment to lure in consumers when all they have a fixed brush bar. I don't know any Bissell that advertises auto adjustment, but here's one I found on Amazon in the link below. Here's some false...
