The biggest problem I find is trying to find parts for the lesser known brands. Eg I have been trying to find parts for a President (apex) vacuum or part for Switson machines.
I always try to make my machines as original as possible. So I am always looking for parts for them. If possible I like to have the original hoses as well just for display. A new one can be used if the machine is to be used.
As far as boxes of spare attachments at thrift stores that seems to...
It should be noted that Eatons often made deals with manufacturers for "cheaper" machines that used up their old stock of parts. In this case we see the 700 style body but with the older style handle and with the grey parts that were used with the rotomatic.
Since this was originally posted I have picked up another interesting machine to go with it.
This is a 1952 Apex model 710. Made by Eureka for the T. Eaton Co in Canada.
Hmm thats a very difficult one to say. Too many favorites but I think these would have to top the list - US 12A, US XXX (Blue), Canadian Z54, Canadian ZB88, English ZC90, English ZA77, English Z303 and the English Volta U133
Just to update this - the white brushes must have been around until the Silverado was out as I have come across this picture of them and have actually managed to get one of the dusting brushes.
Hey Paul
Re bag lock out - no they dont.
Also the bag full indicator on these machines whistled to tell you it was full instead of turning off the machine like the north american ones did.
Hey Paul. Honestly I think they just used the designators running through the alphabet. The original machines were the same design through the various plants with only minor changes (Like the model 12). When they started to make significant changes to the design (yet were still based on that...
Re Pauls observation - yes this would be a ZC90a. Mine is a ZC90b. The series designator after the model number showed a variation of the original model. In this case the a and b had different hose connections.
Just an FYI - Clear heat shrink IS available - but it would make the hose very stiff if you did the whole thing.
Interesting - I have never seen that hose connector in person but it sounds like the US style connector.
Re the Z numbers I believe they denoted variations of the machines. Just a...
Hi Anthony.
Thank you Paul for the mention of my website
The ZC90 was the first UK Electrolux I ever found (Very Early 1980s) here in Canada. It was a 120 Volt version that was made for the Canadian Forces Canex (Store) at their bases in France and Germany. It took me over 30 years to...
Ummm......... I may be reading it wrong but is the author not looking for one of the extension wands. Not the hose.
The Extension wands are a fairly standard size. That particular style was used on both the models 62 and 64 as well as a number of Goblin deluxe machines so you should be able...
