HELP PLEASE with foot release pedal!!

Spare time... I finally have some spare time to work on this thing again. My allergy attack happened when visiting family and the ragweed and pollen were very high. I don't usually have that problem. I checked everything on the base and pedal and nothing is broken. I just can't get it...

I'm finishing my rebuild of this Panasonic and I'm trying to get the foot release pedal back on. What am I doing wrong? Can anyone take pictures of their vacuum and post them? The pics I have before I took it apart aren't too good! On the bright side, this dirty dog cleaned up GREAT! New cord...

    Panasonic SAVED from the crusher!!

Tonight... ...I called our local vacuum shop, Vacs n' Videos, and they have the bulb and belt. For $5 total in parts. Now I've started tearing it apart. Let me tell you now this was the filthiest vacuum I ever dismantled. I have to wonder just WHERE this thing was sitting and for how LONG!

    Panasonic SAVED from the crusher!!

Oh... Good eye on the attachments! What decals? The only decals I see if the information decal on the back and the gold lettering on the lid? Both are in good shape? I'll work on it tonight and see how it turns out. Why do you think it is a 1994 model? I'm eager to learn!

    Panasonic SAVED from the crusher!!

I found this at the curb on my way home last night along with a cheapo Eureka and a broken water heater. The water heater is in my scrap pile and I cleaned up the Eureka that needed nothing at all and put it on Craigslist. This little number though needs a bit more work. It runs but it needs a...

Very cool! How about some pics of the "screw in" cord and plug? I've never seen or heard of such a thing on a vacuum cleaner!
