Kirby 518 front fan plate removal

Reverse thread I hope no offense is taken!   Are you turning to the right to take the fan off?  The fan and belt shaft are reverse threaded, meaning "lefty loosey, righty tighty" do not work.    Sorry if you did indeed read this already and knew.  I just wanna be sure you caught that...

    Vacuuming Downside Up

Great idea! I have been letting my cousin use my Heritage II to vacuum the stairs in the portable mode.  I was quite pissed to discover he cracked the handle where the bag hook attaches.  Of course, "he didn't do it" and has no idea how it happened.  I would love to do this, but I'm afraid I...

    Cleaning Kirby Shake out Bags

What I do Once I remove them from the Emptor, I turn them inside out and use a Kirby Zippbrush to get the embedded dust, dirt, and detritus from the bag.  I then use the crevice tool to get the dirt in the seams' crevices.   Next, for a bag that was not too dirty, I will use a Kirby as a...

    VCCC or VL

BRAVO TODD for speaking out I am right there with you regarding the ridiculous infighting that occurs on this website. I don't think it's limited to just this website however, it seems to be the failing of many vacuum collectors in general. Lots of anger and false pride. Maybe since it's a...

    Vacuums destroying carpets?

THANKS GUYS I was pretty sure this idea was crap, but I wanted to get others' feedback.    Bill-  thanks for the info!  I will have to look into the 152502 brushroll for future reference.  I assumed stiffer is better, but maybe that only applies to *certain* things.  Hahaha!  Do you find...

    Vacuums destroying carpets?

Ever since I have become a Kirby Collector, I have been told that "daily vacuuming ruins carpets".  Does anyone have any information or theory around this?  I presumed that, since Kirby is of high quality and uses its "Triple-Cushioned Vibration" to protect carpets,  they would not harm carpets...

    Kirby Conundrum - Decisions

Keep the Kirby I have gotten more than a few units from Goodwill in varying states of decay.  They have ALL been repaired and fostered to new homes where they have become the daily driver.  That's the thing about Kirby, it was made to be fixed and repaired to last a lifetime.  The Heritage II...
