Vintage appliance household lover saying hello.

Beautiful B-8! I'll echo the comments of others; you definitely need the matching turquoise Electrolux Model G now.

MD G23 240V Dual Motor Central Vacuum Cleaner System

That looks like a late 1970s or early 1980s model E...the G23 didn't come about until the mid 1990s when the 116765 and 117123 became available (Grant please correct me if I'm wrong). G23 will have a wider louvered bottom (though not as wide as on an SV or SVT, which used two 7.2" motors) and a...

Anyone got a dirt cheap 2 stage lamb motor?

That looks like a 116392 motor though other 5.7" two stage tangential (horned) discharge motors would work too. Ideally you'll want an epoxy coated fan case for long life in this application, so look for the -13 suffix after the motor's SKU. You could jump to a 116472 for better performance...

    Central vacuum recommendations?

The MD tapered cloth support bag is the key to keeping airflow strong as the bag fills, as it allows much more of the disposable bag's surface area to be used for filtering. The more common "bag in a can" design means that the side walls of the bag are in close contact with the enclosure, and no...

    Central vacuum recommendations.

John has been pretty quiet since he got his central vacs. Is he having so much fun vacuuming that he's not making any more videos? I'd actually be interested to hear an update now that he's used both units.

    Central vacuum recommendations?

Y'know, I've never been NuTone's biggest fan, but seeing all these failed VX and PP units does give me a fresh appreciation for how solid the previous CV models were. The CV350 and 353 used big 7.2" motors (two and three stage respectively) which would deliver pretty decent performance and very...

    Central Vac DIY Questions

I'm glad to hear you got your S44 back up and running with a new motor. Money well spent, IMO. As much as I love MD machines, that particular unit did suffer from motor longevity issues. I loved the performance and sold a good handful, but when failures started happening (although covered under...

Looking for a rotor for a NuTone CV350 (Ametek Lamb 115334 motor)

I think I've seen the video you're talking about! Was it this one? Motor repair on this level is not a skill I have ever developed...though I admire it nonetheless.

    1981 Sanitaire SC686A

Nice! I love these early Sanitaires. So much better built than the new ones (better sounding, too).

    Central vacuum install "pipe dream"

That's great news. Sounds like all is well with the electrical situation, then. You can run one of these units on a 15 amp circuit as long as it's not shared. A sound insulated thru-flow motor unit will be quieter than a unit with a bypass motor, and as long as the intake air is filtered, the...

    Central vacuum install "pipe dream"

The M465H is the old ModernDay Model J. Great unit, great long-lasting motor. I sold a good number of those and they are probably all still going! However, that unit won't have any internal sound damping so it isn't going to be very quiet. Manageable with the outside exhaust and an inline...

I kind of want to get a car wash vacuum for my collection.

I figured you already had a couple of those around. Can you connect a 240 or 480 volt 3 phase AC load directly to that? Sorry, not a train expert. My HOA here would frown upon me having anything like that.

    Royal ry8300 wiring diagram.

The motor will have three wires...black, white, and orange (could also be yellow or red, I don't remember). You will have a cable coming down from the handle with black and white wires. Then you will have a cable going to the headlight with black and white wires. All three white wires go...

    free FITLER QUEEN 700

If it runs normally for a short time and then begins arcing and slowing down, that indicates that one of the carbon brushes is sticking...one of the less serious and more easily remedied issues that a motor can have. Try taking it apart and replacing (or just removing, cleaning, and...

I kind of want to get a car wash vacuum for my collection.

Tolivac Sure it can. A VFD can take a single phase input (if you de-rate, for example my 10hp VFD can only run a 7.5hp 3phase motor off of a single phase input). A 25hp motor draws about 175 amps at single phase 240 volts. And the turbine is only about 2ft wide x 5ft long.
