Current Vacuum collection
Just getting started. I've always liked vintage things, especially appliances. Have an old GE Stove and Kitchen Aid roll-around dishwasher, an old Amana Radarange, and numerous vintage small appliances. Now I have a Kirby Heritage II, Kirby Classic 3, an old Royal, a Kenmore Twin Fan, and a Eureka Model 260.
What are your dream machines yet to be found?
Hoover Model 69
What are your earliest and favorite vacuum memories?
My Aunt Carol gushing about how much she loves her Kirby! This would've been around 1968 and I would've been 8 years old. my first impression of it was how antiquated it looked, even though it was probably almost new lol. I was used to seeing more sleek vacuums like the Hoover convertibles and stuff so the design of the Kirby just look antique to me.
What is the history of vacuum you have owned?
Kenmore canister from the 80's, a Panasonic upright from the 90's (loved the smooth quiet sound of it), some kind of green Dirt Devil bagless upright from the 00's (didn't pick up worth a crap), and then I found a Kirby Heritage II at a thrift store and it vacuumed circles around the Dirt Devil and I've been very happy with it since.
Have you ever worked on, repaired and/or restored any vacuum cleaners?
No
