    Bison questions

Sukething/David: I don't know yet. I just finished dinner and I'm contemplating a scotch & water after driving all day through ice storms. Us South Texans don't do well with this weather because we rarely ever see it. I read AirwayCharlie's post about the belt having a lip on one side and it...

    Bison questions

The jury is still out here. I'll decide if really want this beast. after I turn it on. It could be in horrible shape...I'll be home next week and I'll have a chance to go back in her attic and drag the machine out. Right now I'm stuck in an ice storm in Ft. Worth. Hoping for an early thaw.

Thank you CompactElectra I've never seen the brown. I love the powder-coat done in the hammertone finish. This one is green, tho looks tan with all the dust. (LOL) When I was little, growing up in Corpus Christi, the neighborhood vac store was next door to my mother's favorite fabric store...

    Bison questions

Thanks Jeff! I'll be compiling the replies as they come. My neighbor-lady doesn't really need the money and she's always coveted my heirloom tomatoes I grow every year, so I think I know where this is headed. It was covered in dust and still it looked awesome.

    Bison questions

The other day, it came out in a conversation with my neighbor that I have this vacuum habit. She thought it was very funny at first. Then she mentioned that she ran across her mother's old Bison when she was putting Xmas decorations back in her attic. Trying desperately to be coy (but I'm not...

Thanks Charles for setting me straight on the Cadillac. I love the styling of that machine. There was an older Cadilac at my favorite junk shop in Houston. I had to back away from it because it had been spray painted silver and had a $75 price tag. Yuk!

My Bad. I haven't bought M.E.K in a few years. I should figure out how to dispose of what I still have. BTW Charles-Richard: in your Great American Garage Clean-Up (page 3 photo 7), I see the Hamilton Beach, Hoover and Westinghouse, but what are the other two machines in the middle?

    Hoover Suction Polisher

It seems odd to me that the suction polisher never took off in the states. The only time I ever saw one in the U.S was in an appliance store that specialized in "export appliances"-- meaning for people leaving the U.S. to live elsewhere.

charles-Richard: Have you tried using acetone? It dissolves all sorts of mysterious substances. I don't know if if you can still obtain M.E.K. in California, but that is even a more powerful solvent. These two have always been available at Home Depot in Texas, but our environmental laws are a...

I betcha this is one that won't come to the states The Beam name is so strong in Canada that I wouldn't be surprised what it shows up on. I'd sure like to see this one. Google came up with nothing.
