I dont really have a collection of vacuums. I have an Electrolux Olympia. I grew up doing the vacuuming chores with Mom and Dads Compact. But I do have collections of about everything else, including many kitchen appliances. Like my Hoover hand mixer. Update 2025 - the Olympia died. I now have a GE Swivel Top C7.
What are your dream machines yet to be found?
Compact vacuum with all the attachments. And about a thousand vintage record players still on the shopping list.
What are your earliest and favorite vacuum memories?
Crawling around under a blanket, following the Compact as my mom vacuumed to make a tent over the warm air of the exhaust.
What is the history of vacuum you have owned?
Quite dull.
Have you ever worked on, repaired and/or restored any vacuum cleaners?
Ive made minor repairs to my Olympia, and cleaned and polished it. I once found a Kirby left for dead on trash day that only needed a replacement belt and a new light bulb, I gifted it to a neighbor. Thats about it.
