Current Vacuum collection
Most of my collection, I acquired at Amvets in Chicago, in the late 1980's. My favorite era is the 1920's - 30's, but I' ve got some from the post war era - 40's to 60's, which is when I stop. Once vacuums became plastic, I have no interest. My newest vacuum is my Kirby Heritage from the 80's, although I had bought a new Kirby Generation3 when I had a B&B in the mid 90's
What are your dream machines yet to be found?
I' ve got too many other collections, and my house is full, so I'm not looking for anymore vacuums, but if there was one - it would be the 50's Lewyt box with the big wheels!
What are your earliest and favorite vacuum memories?
When I was a kid, 5 or so, we lived in New Zealand, and I loved our "new" Hoover 150. I had a perfect copy toy version that worked also - boy I wish I had that today!! Canadian, or British Hoover must have made a 150 miniature "kids" model then......
What is the history of vacuum you have owned?
I don't know the history of anyones that I own.
Have you ever worked on, repaired and/or restored any vacuum cleaners?
I have worked on, or restored all of my vacuums!
