    kirby 511 burned up motor

Les Hey thanks for the info. I really didn’t know if the parts were correct or not. I’m glad you could clear that up for me. I may be interested in getting the armature and field from you. It just depends on the cost. I don’t wanna invest more than the machine is worth. Working on these...

    kirby 511 burned up motor

Repairman Hey thanks for those part numbers ! I stopped in my local vac shop yesterday ( actually, the only vac shop and authorized Kirby shop left in my area) they tried looking to see if they could order me thr parts I’m looking for and she couldn’t find any thing. Actually the oldest...

    kirby 511 burned up motor

Les Hey thanks for the info. So when you say about what the last owner did . Are you saying that this one has the wrong armature ? I honestly don’t know very much about the earlier 500 series. So I wouldn’t know the difference if it has the correct motor in it or not.

    kirby 511 burned up motor

HI        I originally bought this none working Kirby 511 for parts and was going use it to fix up a 513 that I'm working on.  Now Im tempted to try bringing it back to life.  it just seems like such a shame to gut it and toss the rest into a parts bin.   I don't know the history of this...

    Royal Prince metal bag ring.

Hoover 300 Thanks ! I really couldn’t tell what was holding it all together. And didn’t want to destroy the bag . Even though it’s all stained and faded it still useable as a spare….so guess it’ll just go back up on the shelf since it’s really not easily removed from the ring. Side note...

    Royal Prince metal bag ring.

Hi  I was wondering if anyone knows how the metal ring is attached to the cloth bag? also can it be removed and put back on with out ruining it ?   The reason I'm asking is, I have spare bag and want to try an experiment. I want to try lining the cloth bag with a HEPA bag sort of like how...

    Kirby 519 loose Nozzle Question

update Hi.      I got little side tracked and never posted how the nozzle repair went.   The JB weld did the trick ! its not perfect but the nozzle does fit the fan case nice and snug and has enough suction to lift the rug, something it didn't really have before.  Big thanks to Texas Kirby...

    Kirby 1-CR

Paul thank you !   defiantly fun reading reading trough the patent info you shared.    I also Have a 519, DS50, Classic III, Tradition, and a Heritage1.  They are all my favorites for different reasons.   The Heritage 1 is probably the last model made that I really have any true interest...

    Kirby 1-CR

Huskyvacs I know what you mean. The classic 1CR and the Tradition where the ones that where tough finds for me. A Close friend of mine when I was a kid, his parents had a tradition. that was the only one I had ever seen. And I always liked it because it was blue. Locally, I typically...

    Kirby 519 loose Nozzle Question

Huskyvacs Hi Thanks I did see that listing . Also came across another one that was just listed as a 1950’s model nozzle. It looked identical to the one for the 519 only the bumper trim had been changed to tan. It was only $14 so I decided to order it just in case I’m not as successful with...

    Kirby 1-CR

Less. Thank you commenting and letting us know what happened and is going on with his store. I tried looking back through posts on the FB Kirby group and couldn’t find the one about Kent and his store. And agreed. The CR1 does have that aggressive look to it . It’s definitely a...

    Kirby 1-CR

Evolution Yes the classic line is definitely nice. I also have a classic III :-) Kent was the fist eBay seller I ever bought Kirby stuff from back in 2007 . Always very helpful and friendly! He always seemed to have what I needed for older models where others didn’t. I Remember...

    Kirby 1-CR

Update Just wanted to post a quick update on the CR1 bearings. I ordered new ones for both front and back. And it’s been running/sounding great for the last week or so. Thinking This machine should be good to go for another life time :-). Guess the first set was just my bad luck lol...
