    Instincts kicked in and called.

Dirt Devil 08130 molded bag adapter, anemic airflow As you said, the bag adapter is molded right into the casing. Does using a throw-away bag in a vac originally designed for dump-out severely limit the suction? I don't have the equipment to measure flow. The suction is not overwhelming...

    Instincts kicked in and called.

Nice! Is there any difference other than color and branding between this and the Dirt Devil 08130? It looks remarkably similar to the two-speed 08130 I picked up at a thrift shop yesterday. It came with a hose and hose adapter. I believe that the hose plug in the front is from a different...

Brush strips for Hoover concept one & two

Brush Strip Adapters for Quadraflex After 6 months of use several times/week, the 3D-printed brush strip adapters that let you use Eureka VGI brush strips in a steel Quadraflex roller are going strong. I took a brushroll apart and saw no signs of wear or cracking on the adapters.

My recent find, a Hoover ultra self propelled windtunnel model U6425-920

Really like the 1st generation Windtunnels I really like the 1st generation Hoover Windtunnels. They do a great job of cleaning and many have a decent set of onboard tools. Just got my second (a green U6425-920 like yours) today and it's a gem. It was a thrift-shop find that sold for less...

    Eureka Princess Manual

What, Ken didn't hoover? Sad, but I think they missed having a scene with Ken (Ryan Gosling) hoovering in Barbie.

Brush strips for Hoover concept one & two

Brush Strip Adapters for Quadraflex I designed and 3D printed some adapters that fit in a Quadraflex brushroll and let you use Eureka VGI brush strips. It works fine. There's no beater on the brush strip, but it still cleans well. And the bristles needed to be trimmed down to 1/4".

Hoovers which take Type A bags

HEPA Y Bags for Hoover Concept When I bought my Concept Two U3309 from the thrift shop, it came with a paper Y bag installed and a pack of three empty Y bags. They seemed to me to be the wrong bags because, while the collar fit, the paper bags were shorter than the zippered fabric. So I...

Printed Brush Strip Adapters for Concept and Celebrity

Plans to share The VGI adapters survived about 2600 sf of carpet vacuuming this weekend with no signs of distress. So far all is good. I have only replaced 1/2 of the brush strips as I only bought one pair of VGI strips, conservatively avoiding buying what might go quickly to the trash. The...

Printed Brush Strip Adapters for Concept and Celebrity

VGI brush strip haircut Tests went well! The carpet is clean and the Meile salesman is unhappy that I'm still using my Hoover Celebrity QS. There was one complication - the bristles were too long and rubbed on the housing. So we made a trip to the barber shop. A Wahl clipper with a #2...

Printed Brush Strip Adapters for Concept and Celebrity

Frustrated with inability to find either replacement brush strips or a complete brushroll for my Celebrity QS, I designed a 3D-printed brush strip adapter. It holds a Eureka VGI brush strip and slides into the original Celebrity QS agitator, with the combination replacing an original brush...

Hoover Concept One U4119 - Handle Removal Won't Come off

On the Power Drive models, there's a mechanical servo control wire that runs from the handle to the drive module. I think you need to disconnect it, either at the bottom with tools, or by removing the plastic handle. Not sure if this is a 'user assembly' item; shipping with the handle...

    Hoover Concept Power Drive Issues

I have a new-to-me Concept One and also a Concept Two. They both clean impressively, but the Power Drives have issues. On the Two, the drive kicks in quickly and firmly, perhaps more easily and firmly than I would like. (Perhaps I'm just a newbie and will get used to it.) One the One, the...

Remove permanent marker stain Hoover 28

If the body is metal, use acetone. Works like a charm for most permanent markers, as they use acetone-based ink. If the body is ABS plastic, DO NOT USE ACETONE as acetone will eat it. If the body is plastic, try acetone in an innocuous location first to see if it eats the plastic. Good luck!
