Need help removing armatuer on Kirby 510

Hi All. After sucking up a bolt with my Kirby 510 I cracked the fan case. While a fan case is being located and shipping, I decided to take the machine apart to clean, polish and oil it. It is all apart but the armatuer doesn't seem to want to come out. Is there a special trick or screw to...

    Kirby fan Case

Hi All, I am hoping someone has a fan case for a Kirby 508, 509, 510, 511 or 512. Like the one pictures below. I don't know the exact model number of the vacuum because the model number plate is missing. The vacuum has a flipper type on/off switch and a ten blade aluminum fan. If you have one...

    Kirby 508-510

Yes, Yes and Yes Thanks for responding. I don't really care of the model number as long as it has the flipper on/off switch and is as original as possible. I'd love to see more photos and what the price would be with attachments and with buffing. I'd love to have as many original attachments...

    Kirby 508-510

Hi all. I was wondering if anyone had a Kirby 508-510 available for sale. All original would be nice even if it needs some work. I'm trying to replace my grandmothers old machine. She had a beautiful old Kirby and I was hoping to inherit it. However my grandfather threw it away when the motor...

Cleaned out Emptor WOW!!!! Thanks to everyone for the help. On your recommendation I cleaned out the emptor and found the wick. It was burried by almost 70 years of gunk, hair and God only knows what else. Here are the after photos. Like an idiot I didn't take before shots. Thanks again. Can't...

    Sweet-Aire doesn't seem to work

Thanks I might just take the bag off the emptor and thoroughly clean out the emptor. Probably hasn't been done in years. Thank you for the ideas.

    Sweet-Aire doesn't seem to work

I recently purchased some Kirby Odorific since I can't find Sweet-Aire. I poured a number if drops down the whole on the back of my emptor on my 515. I don't notice the smell coming out. Do I need to have the plug because its missing. Any help would be great. Thanks Keith

    Fond memories of Kirby

Hi all. This is such an awesome forum. Lots of great info. I remember as a small child my grandmother vacuuming with an old Kirby. I used to push it around as a kid. That drove my father mad because little boys shouldn't play with vacuums. They were for girls to play with. Maybe that...
