REGISTRATION FEE IS GOOD UNTIL 5/1/9, ANY REGISTRATIONS POSTMARKED PAST THAT DATE WILL BE SUBJECT TO A $20.00 LATE FEE.  NO EXCEPTIONS.

CAN I SHIP VACUUMS TO THE HOTEL?: YES BUT CALL FOR INSTRUCTIONS AND THEY MUST BE SHIPPED OUT BY 6/22/09-MONDAY.

 

DOES THE HOTEL HAVE A RESTAURANT AND LOUNGE?:  YES, BOTH.

 

DOES THE HOTEL HAVE A POOL AND WORK OUT FACILITY?:  YES, BOTH.

 

WHAT IF I CAN'T ATTEND THE ENTIRE CONVENTION, IS MY REGISTRATION FEE THE SAME?: YES.

 

HOW MANY VACUUMS CAN I BRING?: LIMIT TO 12.

 

CAN MINORS ATTEND?: YES, WITH PARENT OR CUSTODIAL PARENT.

 

CAN I CHECK IN EARLY?: YES, BUT YOUR ROOM MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE. CHECK WITH HOTEL.

 

CAN I BRING A GUEST?: YES, AS LONG AS THEIR REGISTRATION FEE IS PAID BY THE POSTED TIMELINE.

 

WHAT ABOUT PARKING?: THE HOTEL HAS A LARGE OUTDOOR, LIGHTED LOT.  FREE.

 

ARE THERE RESTAURANTS NEARBY?: YES, USE YOUR COMPUTERS OR CHECK WITH THE HOTEL.

 

WHAT ABOUT THRIFTING & VAC STORES?: AGAIN, USE YOUR COMPUTERS.  YOU HAVE THE HOTEL ADDRESS--USE THAT AS YOUR STARTING POINT.

 

WILL THERE BE A RAFFLE, FOR SALE AND GIVE-A-WAY AREA?: YES.  LOOK FOR SIGNAGE.

 

WHAT CAN BE ENTERED IN THE RAFFLE?: A WORKING VACUUM IN REASONABLY GOOD SHAPE, NOT A "FIXER UPPER".

Opening day.  Meeting room opens at approx. 4:00 PM and Registration is open.  After registering, members may bring vacuums in.  At 6:00 PM, assorted soft drinks, mixed nuts, salsa and chips available.  Dinner 6:30 to 7:30ish, room will be closed.

Room reopened at President's discretion after dinner.

"Show & Tell" from approx. 8:00 PM till completed.

Room closes at MIDNIGHT.

10:00-11:00 AM vacuum clinic featuring Glenn Dienst, (and we think Mark Turbyfill).  Topic to be announced.

 

Lunch on your own from 11:30-1:00 PM.

 

1:00-approx. 2:00 PM presentation on Royal by Mike Rogers.  (Has been confirmed but he would like it to remain, "tentative").

 

3:00-4:00 PM "new and improved" cleaning contest, (the 2 stroke we did last year).  Andy Weter has graciously agreed to be the Manager of this event.

 

At 2:00 PM assorted beverages will available.

 

4:30-6:00 PM  "Monster Vac" Competition

6:00-7:00 PM Break Before Buffet Dinner

 

During this time, we will have DESIGNATED areas for vacuums for: "Best Original", "Best Restored" and "Most Historic Significance".  

 

7:00 PM casual buffet dinner in separate room.  Menu:

Chicken Marsala and Roast Strip Sirloin, choice of Red Bliss Potato Salad, Tossed Salad or Herb Bow Tie Pasta Salad, also; Chef's selection of fresh vegetables, potato and rice.  Dinner rolls. Chef's selection for dessert.  Coffee, tea or soda.

 

Approx. 8:00 PM Guest Speaker, to remain a mystery!!  We may also have a second Guest Speaker--yet to be confirmed.

 

Rooms closes at MIDNIGHT.

9:30-10:30 AM Board Meeting.  Closed to membership.

 

11:00-12:00 General Membership Meeting.

 

12:00-approx 1:00 PM caravan to Fred Nelson's home for the "Awards Banquet Luncheon".  Lunch starts at approx. 1:30 PM.  We will use Fred's garage, backyard, (tented), and home.

Following the lunch, awards presented.

After awards, we will play the, "Name That Vacuum!", based on the sound only.  Players will be divided into 2 teams.  5-7 vacuums will be run out of sight and the teams have to guess what kind it is.  (This was quite successful several years ago and we are bringing it back.)

 

By approx. 6:00 PM we all leave Fred's and go back to the hotel.

 

8:00 to ? After returning to the hotel Saturday night is free for the first time ever!  You can play with vacuums until the room closes, meet with friends or go out on the town.  It will be your evening to enjoy!
